Introduction
The following cluster aims to identify some of the major categories of analysis that are relevant in discussions of religion in the field of postcolonial feminist theory.
One of the issues that concerns this cluster is to understand how the status of colonized women was affected by colonialism and the role religion played in this process. It also aims to analyze the practices and strategies developed by women to deal with the colonial and post-colonial condition. Recognizing the interaction of two or more patriarchal structures on colonized women, it aims to investigate the articulation of patriarchal structures with religion and colonialism.
However, this cluster also recognizes the importance religion occupies for many migrant women as a strategy of resistance. It investigates the role of religion in the constitution of new imaginaries in the hybrid spaces of potscolonial Europe. By engaging in discussion with issues in the field of postcolonial feminist analysis this cluster wants to address how migrant spaces articulate some aspects of the indigenous cultures and religions with global dybamics.
